Creating Backups in Direct Admin (web hosting control panel)

Generally before making any changes to your website, it is highly recommended that you create a back up in case you need to revert those changes.

To create a backup:
  1. Open your control panel by visiting [yourdomain.com]:2222 (format such as https://ithost.ca:2222) and log in with your credentials
  2. Under "Advanced Features > Create/Restore Backups" select the components you'd like backed up (we recommend all) and choose "Create Backup" button.
  3. Wait until you get a "backup created" message in the message center to confirm the backup has been made.

To restore a backup:
In the same section, along the right is "Restore Backup"

  1. From the drop down menu, choose the backup you'd like to restore.
  2. Choose "Restore" 
This will operate in the background.

If at first you don't see the site restored you will likely need to check in an incognito window or clear your browser cache/cookies.
